Arthur "Sarge" Robinson, 55, a former resident of Crawfordsville, died at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday in a Chicago hospital. He left Crawfordsville in 1943. Surviving are a brother, Lawrence; a sister, Mrs. Winnie Lee, and his step-mother, Mrs. Susi Robinson. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services for Arthur Robinson, city native, were scheduled for Saturday afternoon at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Robinson, 53, died Tuesday at Himes Veteran Hospital in Chicago after an extended illness. The deceased was a resident of Indianapolis and was a member of St. John AME Church there. A son of John and Florence Robinson, he was born on November 2, 1914. He was reared in this area and attended Crawfordsville High School. He was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Robinson was married to Essie Armour on June 20, 1950, in Indianapolis. Survivors include the widow; his stepmother, Susie B. Robinson of Crawfordsville; two daughters, Tanquatta Robinson who lives at home and Barbara Jean Robinson of Danville, Ill.; a brother, Julian of Fort Wayne; four half brothers; five half sisters, and several nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. - thank Kim H
